The Everlast wood-beam bag holder is designed to securely accommodate heavy training bags weighing up to 100 lbs. This steel mount is intended to support single or double-end heavy bags, featuring a durable enamel powder coating that can be bolted to wooden floors or ceilings. It comes with all the necessary nuts and bolts for a straightforward installation.
The Everlast brand has been synonymous with boxing for over a century. The company's origins trace back to 1910, when 17-year-old Jacob Golomb, the son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, founded it as a swimwear manufacturer. Dissatisfied with the short lifespan of typical swimsuits, Golomb began making suits that he guaranteed would last a full year, proudly dubbing them "Everlast."
Although the swimwear business did not stand the test of time, the Everlast name endured. Over the subsequent years, Golomb expanded the company into a small retail store offering a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey requested that Golomb design protective headgear capable of withstanding more than 15 rounds of intensive boxing training, and in 1919, Dempsey won the world heavyweight championship while wearing boxing gloves made by Golomb.
From that point on, Everlast became the premier provider of boxing equipment worldwide. In 1925, Golomb designed elastic-waist trunks to replace the leather-belted trunks worn by boxers, creating the iconic "boxer trunks" that remain a staple in the sport today. Golomb ran the business until his passing in the early 1950s, at which point his son, Dan, took over.
In 1958, Ben Nadorf joined Everlast and purchased 50% of the company from the Golomb family. When Dan Golomb passed away in 1995, Nadorf acquired the remaining 50% interest, becoming the President and principal shareholder of Everlast until 2000.
Throughout its evolution, Everlast has maintained its position as the undefeated champion of the boxing industry, with its men's and women's apparel and accessories continuing to enjoy tremendous success both inside and outside the ring. The Everlast name and legacy endure, reflecting a rich tradition and a promising future.
